Motorola Offering Manual Gingerbread Update to Atrix 4G

Motorola has made Android 2.3 Gingerbread available to the Atrix 4G, which is sold by AT&T. This update must be first downloaded to a microSD card and then installed on the Atrix from the card rather than downloaded over the air. Motorola has provided detailed instructions on how to perform the update on its support pages, and recommends that the Atrix first be updated to the latest version of Blur (this can be done over the air) and be free of user modifications. Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread offers a number of key features, including support for NFC, SIP-based video calling, and better power management.
Requirements needed to ensure a successful upgrade.
  1. A fully charged MOTOROLA ATRIX with MOTOBLUR with an active SIM card
  2. A microSD card installed in your phone with approximately 200 MB of free space.
  3. Your phone is on the latest Android 2.2 software (Blur_Version.4.1.83.MB860.ATT.en.US)
  4. To ensure optimal performance after the upgrade, the phone software must not have been modified in any way.
